Pain Which Never Sleeps

from For The Abandoned by Halter

/

about

This song was written for the first album, but was damaged during post-production process. Because of it we had to re-record it on studio once again.
Lyrics by Alexey Pyshkin, music bu Halter & Pavel Karasev

lyrics

Losing a twenty-four-hour fight
I have no chance to control... going mad
I can’t think of anything except to hide
Fragments of thoughts are racing through my mind

Cannot resist no more. I'm giving in
Plunging into a gloomy state of mind
In which only bright fireflies gleam
But soon these biting sparks just make me blind

Suffering, in permanent and even increase
Do the part, preparing me for my decease
Make an overturn which will force to view
Death as a desired definitive release

Whoever said: "an intense pain cannot be long"
Whoever it was, he was wrong
To realize an agony’s depth
You must drown in it and float along

[Chorus:]
Pain which never sleeps. Never sleeps...
Gnaw as worm and rips... Strictly rips
Dope can ease this pain for a short time
But it never waits too long to start to climb
[Chorus 2:]
Almost at once it returns
Almost at once it returns
Almost at once it returns
Almost at once it returns

Dim finger prints on a steamed glass
First swig of beer... it's all in the past
My sodden boots and smell of rain
Small pleasures of life... it's all in the past

Yellow and red in a transparent air
In autumn streets... all has left
Wishes, attempts, disappointments and hopes
Ambitions and faith... all has left

Cannot resist no more. I'm giving in
Plunging into a gloomy state of mind
In which only bright fireflies gleam
But soon these biting sparks just make me blind

Suffering, in permanent and even increase
Do the part, preparing me for my decease
Make an overturn which will force to view
Death as a desired definitive release

All that I became is just an empty shell
